Instructions for Joining the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP)

• Download the model resolution and the model ordinance (including the referenced code) and adapt (fill-in-the-blanks) as applicable to your city council or quorum court.
  
  
• Download and complete the application for participation in the NFIP (FEMA Form 81-64).
  
  
• Mail the application and copies of the model resolution and the model ordinance, as they have been adapted, to the following address prior to adoption by your city council or quorum court:

• These documents will be reviewed by commission staff to ensure they will be accepted by the NFIP and that you will not have to make changes after their adoption.
  
  
• Upon completion of the ANRC review, the documents will be returned with notations made as applicable. Once your city council or quorum court passes the resolution and adopts the ordinance, copies of these documents (including the referenced code) must be mailed with the completed application to each of the following:
